South Korean semiconductor giant SK hynix has launched a USD 1.5 billion financing programme to support domestic suppliers of semiconductor materials, components and equipment. Developed with the South Korean government, four major banks and the Korea Trade Insurance Corporation (K-SURE), the initiative will provide loan guarantees to help small and medium-sized suppliers access funding. Eligible companies can receive higher loan limits, interest-rate reductions of up to 2.5 percentage points and extended guarantee periods, strengthening South Korea’s domestic chip supply chain.
