Shivraj Chouhan Hits Back at Chidambaram Over One Nation, One Election
New Delhi: Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has defended the One Nation, One Election proposal while hitting back at Congress leader P. Chidambaram’s criticism of the plan. Chouhan argued that the frequent disruption of governments in the past, including during Congress rule, affected the country’s electoral cycle and governance.
Chouhan said simultaneous elections could help reduce repeated election-related disruptions and allow governments to focus more consistently on development and governance.
