The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has clarified that all individual foreign investors, irrespective of nationality, are permitted to invest in shares of listed Indian companies under the Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) framework, subject to regulatory guidelines. The move aims to enhance investment accessibility, attract global capital, strengthen market participation, and support the continued growth and development of India’s financial markets.
