Narendra Modi said the NEET paper leak caused immense distress to students and families. He stated that those responsible had been arrested and jailed, while fresh exams for 2.2 million candidates were conducted quickly and results declared. Modi also announced a proposed law with fast-track courts and stricter punishments, to be placed before the Cabinet and introduced in Parliament.
