The Journey of Mercedes-Benz
Do you know one of the best luxury car brands ?
Yes, we are talking about cars, which have worldwide popularity.
Carl Benz was born in Germany, his father used to work as a loco pilot. Unfortunately, at a very young age, he lost his father.
His mother was left depressed and saw a sudden switch in life, where all the responsibilities were taken by her mother. Moving village to village for work, the struggle which her mother have gone through cannot be expressed in words.
Carl Benz knew she was struggling and while working part-time, he completed his education and became an engineer.
In those days only, horses were used as transport. Carl always wanted to start his own fuel-based vehicle for transport. He prepared his gas engine and his patent was also made. With extreme hard work, he prepared gasoline-based vehicles and demonstrated in an event.
People were enthusiastic and eager to see this newly made engine-based transport system. Again, another tragic incident happened. While using this vehicle, it got struck into a wall, people immediately humiliated carl and the trust was gone. His own business partner also betrayed him and all his business was lost.
Soon, after a few months, he met a beautiful woman, he fell in love and married her. She was from a well-off family. His wife supported him to bounce back and established a new industry for his dream project.
His company became popular across Europe, and he also had competition with the Daimler brand, who used to make nice luxury cars. Both were established companies back then. During World War, their sales were reduced, they had huge pressure on their company. Both were facing losses due to war, so finally they decided to collaborate and merge themselves.
Hitler was a big fan of cars, he asked the owner to create sports cars for racing, which became even more popular. He wanted this brand to be visible across the globe in terms of luxury.
The company became one of the world's best luxury brands. As things were going smoothly, another big jolt hit the brand. When World War 2 began hitler ordered factories to stop cars and make engines for war vehicles. Again, the branches of the factories were bombed by the enemies of Germany.
Situations were tense and problematic from every side they were occupied with pain. A few years passed by and things started resolving, all they had was a brand name. They restarted again with zeal to establish, started making ambulances, police vehicles and the pace picked up, and they launched luxury cars again.
Since then, they have never turned back. Mercedes-Benz became the top branded vehicle in the world. In 2024, they sold almost 2 million luxury cars.
