India and China will resume border trade through the historic Nathu La Pass in Sikkim from August 1, marking the reopening of the ancient Silk Route after a six-year suspension. The move is expected to boost cross-border commerce, strengthen economic ties, and benefit local traders. Trade had remained suspended since 2020 following heightened tensions along the India-China border.
