A few years ago when we used shoes, we all used to see Made in USA, UK, Germany or China.
But today we see Made in India on every other goods and in fact, we have started exporting made-in-India goods on a large scale.

Make in India has 4 major pillars: new processes, infrastructure, new sectors and new mindset.
Make in India is a policy which encourages us to develop, manufacture and assemble indigenous work. India today is dependent on other nations for goods and services. The smallest of things are imported from other nations. From ice cream sticks to weapons. The amount of money we pay to countries is unimaginable. So they launched it in 2014, and it's been more than 10 years.
How the government is working on it.
Sectors involve almost 27 sectors, like aerospace, weapons, textiles, leather and food processing, and many more sectors which have been working effectively in manufacturing.
Production-linked incentives programs were initiated which worked on 17 sectors. Launch of PM Gati Shakti, Startup India, national logistics, tax reforms, unified payment interface, ease of doing business are among important intiatives.
Achievements
Vande Bharat Indian made trains, COVID-19 vaccinations, textiles, 400 million toys made in India, the defense sector. India’s rank in ease of doing business is 142 in 2014 in 2026 it's 63rd rank worldwide. India fetched $4.3 billion FDI funds and in 2024-25 around $70 billion investments.
Make in India is the future of India, which has a significant impact in India. Where the government is constantly working to enhance the growth of India through creating large scale policy changes across various sectors.
