Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that during the global oil crisis, the price of an LPG cylinder could have reached ₹2,000. However, the government kept the highest price at around ₹950 to reduce the burden on people. He said this helped families manage cooking fuel costs during a difficult period and protected consumers from a bigger price rise.
