Kit Harington Joins ‘Harry Potter’ Season 2 as Gilderoy Lockhart
Los Angeles: Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has joined HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series as Gilderoy Lockhart for Season 2, replacing Nicholas Hoult in the role. Hoult exited the project due to scheduling conflicts. (Variety Australia)
Harington is already familiar with the character, having previously voiced Lockhart in the full-cast Harry Potter audiobook edition. Season 2 will adapt Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with Lockhart serving as the Defence Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts.
