Dheeraj Gupta, who started a Vada pav-based brand which is today around 400 crore. His story began, as he was passionate about entering the food business. After completing his education in MBA, he joined his father’s sweet business and worked efficiently.
Dheeraj’s father was always against his ideas and modern thinking in business. He wanted his father's sweet house to have new methods but his father’s successful sweet house built based on traditional ways and years of hard work. His father never accepted and allowed to change. Upset with his father’s rigidity and unacceptance, Dheeraj started his own sweet house on his own terms. He started Shagun sweets with all types of branding, designs and styles exactly as he wanted. After a few days, a big setback occurred as Shagun sweets failed in the market, he went against his family's will and failed. The responsibility he felt was profitable, made him an unsuccessful businessman.
The Journey towards Jumbo King.
After several failures, finally Dheeraj rebuilt his courage and started his Jumbo King brand, the Vada pav-based concept with simple resources. It was easy, affordable and the making cost was also productive.
He started the business with a small store, with just word of mouth promotion. The first day, he earned 5000 rupees and a customer base of more than 100. This gave him great confidence. Eventually, with time, it reached up to 1000 customers and the business started flourishing. The happiness in his life began as his hard work started paying off. He wanted to supply fresh, quick and tasty vada pav, that was the only goal in his mind. Eventually, he started burgers and other recipes too. Today It is worth 400 crores with 145 outlets across India. A simple recipe has made its place across India.
