India will construct a ₹13,000 crore dual-use airport on Great Nicobar Island, designed for both naval and civilian operations. The project, expected to be completed within five years, aims to strengthen maritime security while improving regional air connectivity. It will support defence preparedness, boost tourism, and enhance logistics in the strategically important Andaman and Nicobar region, contributing to long-term economic and strategic development.
