India’s expansion of renewable energy could help save another USD 100 billion in fossil fuel import costs by 2030, European Union Ambassador to India Jean-Eric Paquet said at the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit 2026. He noted that renewable energy growth has already helped India save an estimated USD 100 billion over the past decade by reducing dependence on imported coal and gas. He also highlighted India’s growing position in global solar manufacturing.
