India and Nepal have launched a real-time cross-border payments linkage between India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) and Nepal’s National Payments Interface (NPI). The initiative enables seamless, secure, and instant remittances between the two countries, reducing transaction costs and processing time. The move is expected to strengthen financial connectivity, support migrant workers, and deepen economic and digital cooperation between India and Nepal.
