India's broken rice exports could face fresh restrictions as international prices of 100% broken rice cross USD 360 per tonne, the Indian Rice Exporters' Federation (IREF) has warned. Rising demand from ethanol manufacturers and poultry-feed producers is tightening domestic availability. The average wholesale price of broken rice increased 5.3% to ₹3,036 per quintal between October 10 and November 2. IREF has urged exporters to exercise caution amid the possibility of government intervention to prioritise domestic requirements.
