How Monsoon Harms Indian Economy.

 How Monsoon Harms Indian Economy.

The rainy season has begun with full of water flooding across the streets, from north to south and east to west. The sudden humid climate which irritates us, after that a massive rainfall follows for the next 3 days. That's the situation which has been happening for the last few days now. We all love rain and once upon a time as kids, we all used to play in the rain. We used to prepare paper boats and play with them in the rain. We also played football and cricket in that rain, which we had great pleasureble time. We also go through some kinds of obstacles due to these severe rains. While travelling to the office or school, we suffer from massive water flooding all across the streets, it is difficult to travel with cars and bikes honking on roads or due to traffic jams.

Have you ever thought of the impact of the Indian economy due to rainfall? What are the consequences our country goes through? How much burden we go through during this time. The monsoon season is called the real Finance Ministry by a few individuals as it decides the real future of India.

Agriculture
Whether it rains or not, it's always a problem for us. Almost 50% of India is dependent on agriculture. From soil erosion to its nutrients, crop failures or growth. Farmers are the major people who get impacted due to rain, as they would lose their livelihood opportunities.
Supply chain
Once the heavy rainfall begins, after which the  water logging and excessive drainage leaks creates problem, the entire transport and logistics ecosystem is disrupted. Especially in urban areas and top cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Chennai, this creates a financial loss of 1000 crore a day. That's the estimated value of loss per day across one city. What about the other cities?

Jobs

From street vendors like samosa sellers, tea stalls, fruit sellers and other small businesses which abruptly lose their earning source. The governments, municipal authorities and police forces struggle to protect them due to severe rain water impacting the streets.

Due to all these losses, the chain system of India reacts to the monsoon with farmers and crops being impacted. It creates a hindrance to revenue and the supply chain of goods. The finance ministry holds an estimation of the next budget and makes changes to those losses. The food inflation and prices increase, the export stops, the vendors and businesses get impacted due to water logging. It creates chaos and impacts the banks. RBI increases the interest rates to balance the economy and the business owners would get loans on higher prices. So all these issues are interlinked and connected, the monsoon decides the future of India with brutal chain reaction.
