India’s railway network is the 4th largest in the world with 13000 passenger trains and 11000 freight trains moving every single day. The government of India has allocated 12 lakh crore for Indian railways in 2026 and has began a major modernization process. This budget is exceptional and well managed to enhance the growth of the Indian railways. It is majorly focusing on 5 sectors, the first on is change in rail tracks across India with new high-quality tracks to avoid accidents and for smooth travel for heavy-haul trains.

Changing old trains into Vande Bharat and rapid trains, exactly like western nations projects. Making it extremely luxurious and comfortable for passengers to travel and improving the infrastructure. Mostly using electrification across 99% of the network instead of traditional methods. Saving fuel and protecting ourselves from pollution and other harmful gases. Through the Amrit bharat scheme, 1300 railway stations would be provided better facilities with modern advancement by changing infrastructure across India. Along with that, Kavach technology has been introduced, which is a safety measure to protect from train accidents. It would help trains to track accidents with the help of AI management systems.

It would definitely help overall economic growth and visitors from western nations as tourists would increase as the connectivity would work effectively. The government has 24% growth and wants to increase it by 40% by making a world-class railway network across the globe.
