The story begins with a struggling life from an early age. Harish Krishna Agarwal from Delhi started his business at the age of 18 years old. He used to work in the local markets trying to understand trade, business and commerce. Initially it was for money, after working for a few years, he decided to start his own business. While understanding, he tried various businesses but failed. Then, as days passed, sadness and pain were building up in life. He took a big risk of taking loans from banks and well wishers to start footwear. Harish’s new journey began with a small start with basic instruments and facilities. The experiences and local trading, where he learned all the skills and his communication was also extraordinary. All these skills helped him speak with distributors, retailers, and employees.
The Journey
He started action footwear, which became popular for school shoes, but people used to complain about comfort and reliability. The shoes were locally popular but due to foreign brands starting their dominance, action footwear couldn't expand as it wanted. Harish used basic marketing ideas for advertising, like newspapers, radio, posters, but western brands had high net worth which had great presence. Those international brands started buying local stores and occupied 50% of markets across the globe. After seeing big companies strategies, finally the day arrived where Harish decided to start his sports and fitness brand by naming it Campus, which literally competed with international brands.
Preparing world-class shoes which are affordable and has great quality. Initially, it started offline and after growth, they began their e-commerce platforms and website. Initiated the latest tech-based solutions and Ai-driven product development, took Sachin and Varun Dhawan to promote the brand. Today, it has become India's biggest sports and fitness brand, which is competing across the world. After COVID-19, many businesses fell apart, but the campus made its presence strong and credible. Today it has 20,000 retail stores, 35+ stores and has a net worth of more than 10,000 crore. From problems to competing across the world, the journey of the campus is phenomenal.
