The Central Government has notified the Bharatiya Vayuyan Niyam, 2026, allowing temporary intervention in airline ticket prices during extraordinary situations in the public interest. Effective January 1, 2027, the rules also require airlines to clearly disclose base fares, taxes, service fees, cancellation charges and refund conditions. The DGCA will monitor airline tariffs, while carriers will continue to determine ticket prices under normal market conditions.
