Europe is enduring a historic heatwave, with temperatures reaching 41.7°C in Germany, 40.5°C in Poland, and 41.1°C in the Czech Republic. Since 21 June, the WHO has linked the extreme heat to more than 1,300 excess deaths, including around 1,000 in France alone. Authorities continue issuing health warnings as soaring temperatures strain public health systems.
