India is expected to overtake Japan and become the world’s fourth-largest economy by March 2027, according to Chief Economic Adviser V. Anantha Nageswaran. The projection reflects India’s rapid economic expansion, supported by strong domestic demand, investment and structural growth. If achieved, the milestone would further strengthen India’s position among the world’s largest economies and underscore its rising global economic influence.
