The Cabinet has approved the Samudra Manthan (National Offshore Exploration Scheme) with a budget of Rs. 84,084 crore. The scheme will help increase offshore oil and gas exploration. It has two main parts: collecting and studying seismic data, and improving offshore exploration, infrastructure, and manufacturing support. The goal is to strengthen India's energy security and support future energy needs.
