OPEC Sees Global Oil Demand Rising Sharply in 2027, Led by India

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) expects global oil demand to rise sharply in 2027, driven largely by India and other non-OECD Asian economies. In its latest outlook, OPEC projects worldwide demand to average around 108.3 million barrels per day in 2027, an increase of approximately 2.55 million barrels per day from 2026. The forecast reflects expected economic activity and the rebuilding of depleted oil inventories.
