The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has launched the Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture (DEPA) Handbook for AI Training to enable secure and trusted data sharing for artificial intelligence development. Unveiled by MeitY Secretary S. Krishnan in Bengaluru, the framework allows institutions to collaborate on AI training while retaining control over their data. It uses contractual permissions, secure computing environments and privacy safeguards to protect sensitive information, commercial confidentiality and data ownership.
