India plans to establish a National Hydrocarbon Technology Hub (NHTH) to strengthen research and development in the oil and gas sector, according to the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. Announced during the 29th Energy Technology Meet 2026 in Goa, the proposed hub will bring together public-sector energy companies, private industry, startups, MSMEs, academic institutions and research centres. It will subsume the existing Centre for High Technology and aim to improve collaboration and accelerate the commercialisation of indigenous energy technologies.
