Jefferies expects the decline in India’s domestic air passenger traffic to ease in October, supported by stronger travel demand during the festive season. Domestic passenger traffic fell 6.5% year-on-year to 11.82 million in September 2026, according to aviation industry data. However, festive travel could improve passenger numbers in October. Elevated aviation fuel prices, higher airfares and ongoing disruptions remain key challenges for the sector.
